Psychiatric help
Symptoms shown by patients suggesting psychiatric help are -
- Hallucinations (visual, auditory, tactile etc),
- Loss of sense of time and surrounding
- Extreme suspicion
- intense uncontrollable aggression
- suicidal attempts
- lack of self-care
- intense homicidal thoughts/attempts
- self-injury
- sexual abuse/physical abuse
These persons may need psychiatric help.
They may need long term support system.
A family counseling may be required.
An option of self-help groups are suggested to family.
These persons could be -
- Chronic alcoholics
- Chronic chain smokers
- Substance abuse of other varieties
- Psychotics
- Severely depressed
- Severe mentally retarded (challenged)
- Fragile personalities (Narcissistic/borderline)
- Severe autistic
- severe A.D.H., A.D.D.H.
- Abusers
- Psychopaths
