Psychiatric help

Symptoms shown by patients suggesting psychiatric help are -

  • Hallucinations (visual, auditory, tactile etc),
  • Loss of sense of time and surrounding
  • Extreme suspicion
  • intense uncontrollable aggression
  • suicidal attempts
  • lack of self-care
  • intense homicidal thoughts/attempts
  • self-injury
  • sexual abuse/physical abuse

These persons may need psychiatric help.
They may need long term support system.
A family counseling may be required.
An option of self-help groups are suggested to family.

These persons could be -

  • Chronic alcoholics
  • Chronic chain smokers
  • Substance abuse of other varieties
  • Psychotics
  • Severely depressed
  • Severe mentally retarded (challenged)
  • Fragile personalities (Narcissistic/borderline)
  • Severe autistic
  • severe A.D.H., A.D.D.H.
  • Abusers
  • Psychopaths
