Outer cloak: a defense!

We all have three layers of mind:

  1. outer cloak which comes in contact with the outer world
  2. defending wall of fort
  3. inner vulnerable, sensitive guarded part

We express ourselves through our outer cloak/mask in such a way that we develop and keep fairly cordial relationship with others around.
We develop this art in the process of our growth right from early childhood. It is essential aspect of assuring our survival.

Every one of us in childhood understand that outer world is unpredictable. People around have incongruousness in their behavior. So, we try to guess the response of people around and monitor our expressions accordingly.
each of us does this in his/her unique way and thus we develop our own personality which is distinctively different than others.

Manners-etiquette are essential content of our outer cloak.

The therapist tries to understand the person with his/her cloak and behind the cloak.
