A fully trained psychotherapist undergoes therapy as a part of his / her professional training. The trainee thus understands the difficulties, one can face while opening out in front of a therapist.

Lastly he / she understands and accepts that -
I am a simple common human being and all the natural laws (birth, development, death) are applicable to me.
The emotions like hatred, anger, frustration, lust, jealousy, shame, guilt are common for all.
In order to survive and grow, I created a self-defeating theme.
I forgot about it and my today's problems are because of this weak foundation in my personality.
Nobody else is responsible for my pain and suffering.
So, I need to change the theme and grow in a healthy way on the basis of realistic understanding.'

The trainee thus goes through all phases - exploration, disintegration and reintegration. He / she tries to live in 'Here and Now' instead of 'there and then'.

It helps him / her in helping clients in professional practice.
