What is anxiety?

Its a feeling of "what will happen?" to me, my loved ones, to the world...

It might contain fear-nervousness-restlessness-indecisiveness.
It is created because of fear of nonacceptance of reality.

Reality and ideology often differ.

Ideology is acceptable to the general population.

Reality can be unpredictable, unthought of, uncontrollable and inevitable.

Anxiety can be a fear of imaginary failure.

A mere thought of a possibility of death, sickness, disability, being outcast (social disapproval), threat to survival, disfigurement, losing self-worth/usefulness, getting injustice is enough to create anxiety.

How therapy will help?

It helps a person to verbalize his/her feelings and feel accepted by the professional without getting ridiculed.
Together they can work on deeper issues and relate those to the present situation.
Its a work on past-present and future of the person.

How much time will it take?

It depends upon the gravity and complexity of the situation as felt by the person.
One needs to be patient and motivated enough to work thoroughly to understand and handle the whole process.
